The Key to a Better Life!

Time management is basically about being focused. The Pareto Principle also known as the ‘80:20 Rule’ states that 80% of efforts that are not time managed or unfocused generates only 20% of the desired output. However, 80% of the desired output can be generated using only 20% of a well time managed effort. Although the ratio ‘80:20′ is only arbitrary, it is used to put emphasis on how much is lost or how much can be gained with time management.

Some people view time management as a list of rules that involves scheduling of appointments, goal settings, thorough planning, creating things to do lists and prioritizing. These are the core basics of time management that should be understood to develop an efficient personal time management skill. These basic skills can be fine tuned further to include the finer points of each skill that can give you that extra reserve to make the results you desire.

But there is more skills involved in time management than the core basics. Skills such as decision making, inherent abilities such as emotional intelligence and critical thinking are also essential to your personal growth.

Personal time management involves everything you do. No matter how big and no matter how small, everything counts. Each new knowledge you acquire, each new advice you consider, each new skill you develop should be taken into consideration.

Having a balanced life-style should be the key result in having personal time management. This is the main aspect that many practitioners of personal time management fail to grasp.

Time management is about getting results, not about being busy.

The six areas that personal time management seeks to improve in anyone’s life are physical, intellectual, social, career, emotional and spiritual.

The physical aspect involves having a healthy body, less stress and fatigue.

The intellectual aspect involves learning and other mental growth activities.

The social aspect involves developing personal or intimate relations and being an active contributor to society.

The career aspect involves school and work.

The emotional aspect involves appropriate feelings and desires and manifesting them.

The spiritual aspect involves a personal quest for meaning.

Thoroughly planning and having a set of things to do list for each of the key areas may not be very practical, but determining which area in your life is not being giving enough attention is part of time management. Each area creates the whole you, if you are ignoring one area then you are ignoring an important part of yourself.

Personal time management should not be so daunting a task. It is a very sensible and reasonable approach in solving problems big or small.

A great way of learning time management and improving your personal life is to follow several basic activities.

One of them is to review your goals whether it be immediate or long-term goals often.

A way to do this is to keep a list that is always accessible to you.

Always determine which task is necessary or not necessary in achieving your goals and which activities are helping you maintain a balanced life style.

Each and everyone of us has a peek time and a time when we slow down, these are our natural cycles. We should be able to tell when to do the difficult tasks when we are the sharpest.

Learning to say “No”. You actually see this advice often. Heed it even if it involves saying the word to family or friends.

Pat yourself at the back or just reward yourself in any manner for an effective time management result.

Try and get the cooperation from people around you who are actually benefiting from your efforts of time management.

Don’t procrastinate. Attend to necessary things immediately.

Have a positive attitude and set yourself up for success. But be realistic in your approach in achieving your goals.

Have a record or journal of all your activities. This will help you get things in their proper perspective.

These are the few steps you initially take in becoming a well rounded individual.

As the say personal time management is the art and science of building a better life.

From the moment you integrate into your life time management skills, you have opened several options that can provide a broad spectrum of solutions to your personal growth. It also creates more doors for opportunities to knock on.

What Really Makes You Tick?" 10 questions you should ask to yourself: a preparation to self-improvement

Be all you can be, but it's not always in the Army. I often see myself as somewhat contented with my life the way things are, but of course it's hard to think of anything else when where are real issues to be discussed.

Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

So we're all pelted with problems. Honestly it shouldn't even bother or even hinder us to becoming all we ought to be. Aspirations as kids should continue to live within us, even though it would be short-lived or as long as we could hold on to the dream. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks… or can they?

1. What do I really want?
The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day.

Find something that you are good at can help realize that small step towards improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.

2. Should I really change?
Today's generation has taken another level of redefining 'self', or at least that's what the kids are saying. Having an army of teenage nieces and nephews has taught me that there are far worse things that they could have had than acne or maybe even promiscuity. So how does that fit into your lifestyle?

If history has taught us one thing, it's the life that we have gone through. Try to see if partying Seventies style wouldn't appeal to the younger generation, but dancing is part of partying. Watch them applaud after showing them how to really dance than break their bones in break-dancing.

3. What's the bright side in all of this?
With so much is happening around us there seem to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it's a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!

4. Am I comfortable with what I'm doing?
There's always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what goes with which shoes, or purse, shirt and whatnot. It doesn't take a genius to see yourself as someone unique, or else we'll all be equally the same in everything we do. Variety brings in very interesting and exciting questions to be experimented.

5. Have I done enough for myself?
Have you, or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you'll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing.

6. Am I happy at where I am today?
It's an unfair question so let it be an answer! You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life!

7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex?
So maybe I don't have an answer to that, but that doesn't mean I can't try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit.

8. How much could I have?
I suppose in this case there is no such things on having things too much or too little, but it's more on how badly you really need it. I'd like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is that how much are you willing to work for it?

9. What motivates me?
What motivates you? It's an answer you have to find out for yourself. There are so many things that can make everyone happy, but to choose one of the may be the hardest part. It's not like you can't have one serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that's it. Just try it piece by piece.

10. What Really Makes You Tick?
So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be, but to realize that attaining something that may seem very difficult is already giving up before you even start that journey. Always remember, that self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it's something that you really want.

Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?

When was the last time you really looked at someone`s wristwatch? Did you happen to notice the brand name? What about the diamonds? where they fake or real? I ask these questions because I too am curious to know when everyone started buying wristwatches that cost $10,000.00 or more! Why? That is the question I am going to answer for you today. We will have to go back in history to fully understand the human fascination with expensive watches.

Today`s wristwatch has become as much as a status symbol as a device to tell time. Back in the early 1900`s, it was considered unmanly to wear a wristwatch. In those days, they were called wristlets and only seen on the wrist of women .Most watch makers during that time did not make very many because they did not think that the wristlet would keep proper time. Also they were not durable enough to stand the work that men put them through.

But by the early nineteen century, this started to change when soldiers discovered their usefulness during wartime situations. Keep in mind that in those early days, most men would carry pocket watches. The pocket watches were clumsy to carry during wartime. Soldiers started fixing leather straps to the watches, therefore freeing up their hands in order to do battle. It is believed that Girard-Perregaux equipped the German Imperial Naval with similar pieces as early as the 1880s, which they wore on their wrists while synchronizing naval attacks, and firing artillery.

Decades later, several technological advents were credited with the British victory in the Anglo-Boer War (South Africa 1899-1902), including smokeless gunpowder, the magazine-fed rifle and even the automatic or machine gun. However, some would argue that it was a not-so-lethal device that helped turn the tide into Britain’s favor: the wristwatch.

n fact, an “Unsolicited Testimonial” dated June 7, 1900, appeared in the 1901, Goldsmith’s Company Watch and Clock Catalog as follows:

“… I wore it continually in South Africa on my wrist for 3 ½ months. It kept most excellent time, and never failed me.—Faithfully yours, Capt. North Staffs. Regt.”

This testimonial appeared below an advertisement for a military pocket watch listed as The Company’s “Service” Watch, and was further described as: “The most reliable timekeeper in the World for Gentlemen going on Active Service or for rough wear.”

In 1906, the evolution of wristlets took an even bigger step with the invention of the expandable flexible bracelet, as well as the introduction of wire loops (or lugs) soldered onto small, open-faced pocket watch cases, allowing leather straps to be more easily attached. This aided their adaptation for military use and thus marked a turning point in the development of wristwatches for men.

Thus, the role of the wristwatch seems to have come full circle. With the general public now leaning toward high-tech, digital gadgets, the classic mechanical wristwatch has once again found its home on the wrists of those brave soldiers who welcomed it some 100 years ago.

Although, this may not fully explain the fascination that we have with expensive wristwatches. The wristwatch has remained a status symbol meaning that whoever has the most expensive watch, wins the war. Although for the life of me, I can`t understand why a person would want to spend ten, 15 thousand dollars on a wristwatch. For instance, you go places everyday. Now ask yourself, how many people did you see today and can you remember what kind of watch they were wearing?

With that in mind, I own at least 20 beautifully crafted wristwatches and Sometimes I get comments on how nice they look. On occasion, I will be asked to take them off so the person can get a closer look. All told, my collection of wristwatches cost me about $200. Oh! Did I mention that my favorite is a g unit wristwatch full of crusted diamonds. It has the look and feel of a five thousand dollar wristwatch. So, my question to you is, Does anybody really know what time it is?

Mister, Can You Spare A Gallon Of Gas?

I went to the gas station last week and was totally shocked to have to pay $2.85 a gallon for gas. All the smart people say that it will reach four bucks a gallon by summer. Now, before you go out and by that new fancy car that will save you gas because it has a smart engine. You know, the ones they are starting to advertise that switches from an 8 cyl. to a 6cyl. to a 4 cyl.

I really have to give my hats off to the guy who thought this up. I mean, really, how much time and thought did he put into this? Well I can tell you that when I saw the commercial on these smart engines, it took me two seconds to figure out why it won`t work. It seems like the Auto Manufacturers are stuck on stupid. Why keep building cars that are dependent on gas and oil. Burning less gas and oil is not better. How come they can`t figure that out? Scary Huh! Makes me think that the Big Three got their head in the sand.

One day soon, we are going to run out of fuel for our automobiles and making a smart engine is not going to solve our problem. And if you are looking for a car, I would get a small car with a 4 cyl. engine. If you get one of those bigger cars with the so called smart engines, you`ll actually burn up more gas. Remember that weight has a lot to do with how much gas you`re burning. If you buy one of the cars I see advertised on T.V., that says you`ll save gas because the engine converts from an 8 cyl. to a 4 cyl., please remember that you still have the weight of the car!

When looking for your new car this summer, try to find something that is more fuel efficient, like the new Hybrids. I know there are some complications when it comes to looking for alternative fuel. For instance, I can imagine that if not done right, we could have massive layoffs that could put the economy in a tailspin! We do need to shift our thinking to finding another alternative to travel. If we are not careful with our consumption, instead of seeing that guy on the corner with the sign that says, will work for food, I will be on that corner with a sign that says, Mister, can you spare a gallon of gas?
As I am writing this post. I am thinking, this is just food for thought. We need to find a fuel that has plenty of staying power, say, like grass. I would like to know that we left the world a much better place that when we found it! This article was written by David E. Bowie: CEO of David Bowie`s House Of Auctions. Auction Life.

Welcome to the world of Auctions. Now, I must tell you there is a world of difference between online Auctions and live Auctions. My expertise happens to be live Auto Auctions. I have worked for the past ten years at the San Diego Auto Auction. I must say, it takes a lot of nerve to raise your hand up in the air when bidding on cars. I have seen Car Dealers go broke because they did not know how to bib on cars.
What happens is a car Dealer get his license and comes to the Auction and is overwhelmed. I can`t blame him. I would be overwhelmed too! Then he sees all these flashy cars, Mercedes, BMW`s, Jaguars, Cadillacs and Land Rovers. Now keep in mind, chances are he has not done his home work. He starts off buying these high dollar cars, not knowing that the profit margin on high dollar cars is not that much. then after about a couple of months, he has 10, 15 high dollar cars and no market.
Understand one thing about high dollar cars. You must have a market to move these cars. When I say high dollar cars, I`m talking in the range of $30,000.00 to $120,000.00. I can`t speak for you but the people I run with can not afford to even look at these cars! If the new car Dealer had done his home work, he would have known that the profit margin is better with the low dollar cars, like the Toyota Camry, Chevy Corisica, Ford F-150 and the like. Most people can afford what I like to call the low bottom car.
If you are planning on getting into the car business, please do your home work. The live Auto Auction can be a mean business and takes no prisoners. My Auction offers on average 1200 cars a week with 8 Auctioneers, 900 dealers bidding in 8 different lanes. We do have an auction that runs 24 lanes serving 3,000 dealers with 24 Auctioneers Auctioning off 7,000 cars. That`s enough to drive me crazy! All this takes place in a matter of hours.
The Auction I work at sits on 79 acres of land and sometimes that is not enough! We employ around 300 employees. Our total employee count for all our Auctions is 36,000 employees. We have state of the art equipment including a Full service Body/Paint Shop, Mechanic Shop and a Detail Shop.

Brick And Mortar. Is This The End?

Is this the end of the road for the brick and mortar companies? Online business has soared over the past several years not to mention with the help of the global economy. I would venture to say that the standard brick building that we used to pay rent and handle transactions would no longer exist in the near future. I remember in one of my college classes in 1987 where my professor was saying that there would come a time when no one would have to leave home to do any type of shopping. Well, ladies and gentlemen, that time is here. I say give it another 15 to 25 years and we will think, anyone still doing business out of a brick building instead of on the internet will be obsolete. The global economy will demand it. Will this cause a fall in land prices? The way I see it, I think land prices will remain steady. But the only land that will be needed is for housing and warehousing. We are closer than we think. When you really think about it, how often do you need to leave your house get food? There are so many things that you can accomplish over the Internet.

There are Companies that allow employees to work one day a week out of their home. You may find this hard to comprehend, but you have thousands of so called Internet gurus who don’t leave their home for nothing except maybe to get some fresh air. It’s pretty simple, imagine that you are at home on your computer and you decide you want some fast food from Jack In The Box. You just put your order in via the computer and a warehouse receives that order which relies on another computer to cook up your order. Your order is then delivered to your door via street trolley type car all in the space of 8 minutes. By the way that same warehouse, houses every fast food joint you could think of. So there would be know need to travel to different restaurants to satisfy everyone.

Just imagine, all of us living in the age of the Jetsons! Computers and the internet has made most things possible. Does this mean we could become dependent upon computers like in the matrix? Now that`s a scary possibility. As humans, we must watch out that we do not sell our souls to the machines. We need to make sure we have capable people in charge. We will find ourselves destroying this world of ours. I can see mankind turning this earth into one big hell. Most of mankind has already sold out to big business. all you have to do is turn on the news to see that.

Seems like every story is about some CEO stealing money from his own company. I just finished reading an article about a well known company that got together with two other companies and devised a scheme online called click fraud. click fraud is when other companies pays an internet company to put ads on web sites and pays a price every time a consumer clicks on that ad. To make a long story short, The internet company paid two other companies to click on the ads to run up the bill. So we must be very careful not to sell out our future to this machine called the internet.

So I ask, that we keep a vigilance to place gatekeepers on the computers to keep the internet pure and clean. not only for us but for the future of our children.

ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION

Hello everyone. How`s it going out there? David Bowie here, owner of David Bowie`s House of Auctions. Home of the buy now Auction products. I have a correction to make. In one of my articles, I stated that there was 10 million online Auctions. Well, according to (Alexa.com) there are 29 million online Auctions out there. Which brings me to another conclusion. With so many Auctions out there, how does one avoid being taken in by fraud? I run several Auctions from (YAHOO) and (EBAY) plus I offer specialty items from my own web site.

I have noticed that recently, I started getting private emails from shoppers from other Auctions saying that they are interested in a certain item that I`m selling on ebay and would I except a moneygram. then they go on to say that they would like to have the item shipped to Nigeria. Picture me rollin!

Hello world! How`s it going out there? Allow me to introduce myself. My name is David Bowie, I am the sole owner of David Bowie`s House of Auctions. Get used to the name cause you`re going to be hearing the name a lot over the next few weeks. Can you see me now? If you`ll just look right outside your window you can see me at http://davidbowiesnightlife.com David Bowie`s House of Auctions went through a complete make over about a month ago. Gone, were all the fancy colors and flash animations. Hence, the name change. When I decided to get a domain name, I decided to go with my own name. I quickly found out that my name real name David Bowie was already taken by the singer by the same name although that is not his real name.

So I had to do some creative thinking to come up with another domain name. I was working a day job that I currently still hold, minus a few promotions along the way, and could only work on my web site at nights. So for some reason , I came up with the domain name of David Bowie night life. It is strange that when I tell people my domain name, the first thing they think of is sex! Trust me on this one, that was not my intention when I purchased my domain name. I think that sex is a private matter between two people. Or three, if you prefer (smile). Seriously, sex was not on my mind when I found my domain name.

About a month ago, I took David Bowie`s Night Life, tore it down and built David Bowie`s House of Auctions. I still go under the same domain name. The site has a new look and feel to it. The site serves two purposes, one it is a gateway to visit other Auctions that are not well now to most shoppers. Two, I sell items that are hard to find at a very low prices. there is also a section dedicated to promoting your web site and internet marketing. I do have a wealth of information on other auctions and how they operate. Throughout the year, I will post reviews on the auctions I visit and will contact the owners for their input. The reviews will be posted on my site as well as on my blogs.

I will write articles pertaining to Auction life in general. Once in awhile I may get off topic and rant and rave about one thing or another. To give you a little background on me, I work for a wholesale auto Auction. I have been with this Company for the past ten years. I am considered Senior Manager, which no one still can tell exactly what that means and well sell about four thousand cars a month! So I do know something about the Auction business. Weather it is cars, jewelry or cows. An Auction is an Auction. The one thing you will get out of my articles on Auctions is an education on how to buy what and when to buy. you will also be taught who to buy from and knowing if you can trust certain sellers.

Reminds me of a certain buyer who bought a pair of two way radios from me about six months ago for $28.00. He was from another country and I had the hardest time with shipping, which took an extra month. When he finally got his radios, he was very happy. I won a loyal customer although, chances are I will never sell to him again. By the time I answered his questions via the phone and paid my bill of $48.00, well need I say more? So for you sellers out there, this tip is on the house! Sometimes it is better to pass up a sell! Did you know as I am writing this article, there are 10 million online auctions out there! Whew! That`s a lot of Auctions although some are hard to find or you need an invitation to get in. Together we will research them all. I might review five a week and post my findings on my site and blogs.

Who knows I might even buy something from Christies or is it Christy`s! Oh well, I think you get my point. I will also talk about the pros and con of buying expensive jewelry versus knock off jewelry. I bought a knock off watch a couple of weeks ago and wore it to work and only three people noticed it and wanted to have a closer look. I have come to believe, that most people are not that observant. I mean this watch has the look and feel of a $10,000.00 platinum watch with diamonds and bling, bling and only three people noticed. By the way, the vendor wanted $15.00 for the watch but I got her to give it to me for $10.00. You will probably see it on my next sale.

When life throws you a curve ball

I received a phone call last night at 12:30PM from my sister Donna. Normally when a call comes in that late, it is not to say hi.My Sister told me that my Daughter`s younger Sister died after being sick for a very long time. I am not sure what the cause of death was. Her name was Kim and she was 27 years old. She leaves behind a 6 year old Son. Hearing of Kim`s untimely death brought back so many memories.

I remember when she was six and although her Mom and I were no longer seeing each other, Kim and her Brother had stayed a summer with me cause of being in trouble at school. She turned into a beautiful lady. I would tell her as she got older that if she needed help, please call me. Kim was like one of my own children. It also brought back memories of my own Mothers death. I too will pass away when the time comes. I am so greatful to be in a position to help my Daughter.

I say I am greatful because I have not always been so fortunate. You see for many years, I was involved with drugs and alcohol from the time I was seventeen years of age. I am 50 years old now. I had a moment of clarity when I was 40 years old and have been sober ever since. I am greatful because before my Mom passed away, she got to see me sober for five years and she the Son she was hoping for. The reason I mention this is because I could not be the Man I am today without the grace of a loving God.

I have created a web site dedicated to my Mom and will include Kim in it also. I hope to have it completed by years end. This site will be of a spiritual nature for those seeking answers to life`s questions. This site will include pictures and short stories about angels that my mom wrote while she was alive. My Mom wrote thee books of short that she never published. she wrote these short stories for her many students at different churches where she taught Sunday School. The name of the web site will be called Spiritual Angels. Now I must help my Daughter go through her pain and make sure she comes out on the other side with an understanding of life. How ironic! I put my life in danger for years and years.

I say how ironic because Kim didn`t smoke or drink. She just went to work and tried to raise her Son. Me, on the other hand, stayed drunk most of the time. Became homeless and was sleeping on the sidewalk and eating out of dumsters. today I am a Senior Manager for a large corporation and I own several web sites. Talk about God raising the dead! I called my Daughter this morning to make sure she was ok and she was sleeping. i told her to call me when she wakes up. she lives in Dallas and I want to make sure that she gets here safe to help her go through her pain. One day I will share my complete story hoping that it may help someone get on the right track. I feel for my Daughter cause in the last several years, she has lost both Grandparents and her Mom is very poor health.

Kim, may you rest in peace! you are loved and missed by many! You can view my articles of interest or subscribe at David Bowie`s House of Auctions

Is the storm over yet?

Hello world! David Bowie here of David Bowie`s House of Auctions. Home of the buy now Auction of his and her watch sets, electronics and ebooks. Hurry! Sale ends tomorrow.

Stormpay? Where are you Stormpay? It seems that the saga with Stormpay continues to grow. This new round of development makes me sad because Stormpay had such great potential. I mean if you were to ask me to rank them three months ago, I would have given them a mark higher than Yahoo! Auctions and right next to ebay!

Stormpay continues to crash and burn and I wonder if they will survive! History tells me that Stormpay will be done by years end. Here is their latest story. Dear Valued StormPay customer,

Effective immediately StormPay Inc. will no longer accept payments for sales made outside of StormPay Auctions. If you are an online seller who wishes to sell your product or service through the StormPay system, your item must be sold using the StormPay Auctions feature. Listing in the StormPay Auctions is FREE of charge unless utilizing our inexpensive upgraded listing options.

Q: Why has StormPay implemented this new policy?

A: StormPay has rendered certain policy changes to insure a safer online experience for both buyers and sellers. This policy change allows StormPay to more closely monitor the products/services sold, insuring that sold items are within StormPay’s acceptable use policies.

Under these new policy guidelines, customers may no longer log into a StormPay account for the purpose of sending money to another online user, or “offsite” website sale. All “spends” and “receives” are and only can be for the specific purchase of a user’s auction listing and successful purchase of.

Subscriptions (recurring billing) is no longer supported by the StormPay system. All current subscriptions have been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We appreciate your business. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Now, you may not know what this means, but a good portion of their business was through subscriptions form members of Stormpay. Well I can tell you as a former member of Stormpay, I made good money selling items on Stormpay until the trouble started. Then, like rats jumping off a sinking ship, all the major players deleted their Stormpay accounts.

Stormpay was left with plenty of sellers and no buyers and the sellers were selling junk! I loved the good old days when I would get two, three emails a week saying, you have money waiting in your Stormpay account! Which makes me wonder, what kind of emails is Stormpay getting these days? Something like, you have jail time waiting in your account!

Is there a revamp process in place? Might be a good idea to rename the site Scampay and use it as a forum to post ongoing scams and run some gumball ads. Any way Stormpay is the reason I decided to run my own buy now products from my own web site with prices below Auction prices. I have tried selling on ebay with no success. Ebay`s market is too saturated. Stormpay, I do wish you the best and I wish that greed would have not been your downfall.

Remember readers, my sale on his and hers watch sets ends tomorrow. All sets comes with a life time warranty! to see these beautifully crafted watches visit David Bowie`s House of Auctions Home of the buy now Auction Site.
